MODERN EXPRESSIONISM
JOSEPH MINTON
Modern Expressionism:
Modern Expressionism is defined as an artistic style in which the artist or creator depicts not just a flat superficial rendering of reality but instead combines images and objects with passion and emotions. This is commonly accomplished via the use of literal and abstract emphasis on color, form, texture, obscured/distorted/deformed subject matter, depth, exaggeration and abnormally modified surrounding imagery. Modern Expressionism is based in the roots of Expressionism and German Expressionism but takes it to a different level by removing the confines of traditional 2D medium and integrating the qualities of Abstract and Expressionism art with non traditional modern artistic styles. Bellow are some example of Modern Expressionism.
