Migration Direction
When we start the census on December 1 the whales are swimming south with an occasional one going north. During February a crossover or transitional period occurs. By March they are predominately northbound with an occasional one going south.

This chart shows how the crossover is different each year. Sometimes early, sometimes late, somethimes short and sometimes long periods of going both ways.
