About Prints Contact Main

I was born in Toronto, Canada, and lived in Quezon City, Philippines before moving to the suburbs of Los Angeles, when I was 7 years old. My Filipina-multi-cultural identity, coupled with living in Los Angeles, exposed me to a variety of cultures and lifestyles and my experiences growing up have led me to become active in working with historically underrepresented, underserved communities, people of color, and the LGBT community.

As a teenager, I wrote poetry and eventually, became drawn to the visual arts. Throughout the years I have studied many forms of visual arts such as black and white photography, printmaking, and painting.
My goals are in fusing art with activism and I feel my personal history and personality contribute and speak to the subject matter of my art, which explores social issues and heritage while depicting elements of playfulness and irreverence.

I moved to San Diego after getting married and graduating from Cal State Long Beach. I currently live in the North Park area of San Diego with my husband and baby boy, Jonas, who was born in October 2005.
