Clerodendrum trichotomum

This is a deciduous shrub, rarely seen in this area (RI). Many gardening books rate this as a zone 7-9 plant. This plant is perhaps a hardier form, but thrives is zone 6a and 6b locations in Rhode Island every year!

Clerodendrum in RI Clusters of pink and greenish white buds open up to fragrant flowers from the late summer into autumn. Then, followed by nice blue decorative berries. Easy to grow, and prefers full sun.

This is not C. bungei, which may be a little hardier and less "showy"

Easy to propagate, and its great to enjoy this plant in the north!

Water freely in the growing season and some fertilization is helpful.
