Button Growing Hardy Palms and Subtropical in Rhode Island Button

The Tropics

Welcome back! -- I began these pages in 1995. I added to them ongoing on a couple different ISP's for all to see. But now I find myself starting over (A re-creation of 6 years of work). So I will start from what I had, and continually add here all that I can. This will take some time, but hang in there! For now the active links will be the ones with the larger font. The smaller font links may be included shortly but are inactive now. Later new links and pictures never seen before as well as follow up on the plants from the existing older pages from a few years ago.

All of my subpages are listed below.  There are a few cold hardy small palms you can grow well north of the tropics! --it depends how far north you are, and what overall climate you live in. Also there are many warmer climate plants that are growable in cold RI. Many are unusual to many, also meaning rare in this area! These ideas and others are where fun and good gardening talk/exchange starts! Please view as many of my pages as you would like!  I live generally at the northern/climate possibility of having very small palms here and other unusuals, which can live on outdoors in the NE US. This page and my others are a means for northeast gardeners and those in similar climates to come together and do with their landscape something they may always have wanted to--grow a little of the "ungrowable"!  Please read on! Do some experimentation!

2 pictures of just about the hardiest palms, ----  Needle palm in December 2000.  Windmill palm in fall 2000. Then hit back on your browser to return here. Down below I added a new counter. It started at 125000 as it was (approx.) when this page "disappeared" 9 months ago. **NEW--My Favorite Pictures**
