Emi's China Trip
Home Up

Emi's "Gotcha Day"

This was the day in March of 1996 when we were blessed with our little princess Emi in China.  A bunch of the other 13 girls were wailing, but Emi was all smiles. Katsuyo on the other hand was crying her tears of joy.  Our trip was great, sort of like a vacation, except that we were instant parents!

The red envelope contains Emi's lucky money.

Emi returned to the Sanshui SWI in Nov. 2001 for a visit.

These are Emi's sisters in one of the famous White Swan Hotel couch shots.  This is the class picture for the Fu sisters from Sansui. Emi is the little cutie on the top right corner.
Of course the trip went very smoothly under the guidance of "Uncle Norman" of U.S. Asian Affairs.

Martin and Norman (and the rest of the China team) did a great job of trying to make us all happy campers.

Here's Martin shaking hands with Andy with Jimmy next to him. (The Chinese liquor is wicked stuff!) Just make sure you don't drink up unless you want a refill.

We were also treated to tours of Guangzhou and I got to avoid most of the Chinese culinary delights. (For some reason bird heads artfully arranged on a plate so they are looking out at you is not something that I find appealing.)
