- Participated in reference,

- Worked independently at a
community college reference desk answering reference questions for
diversified and multicultural patrons, by phone and
in person.
- Retrieved information from online
research tools such as the Internet, EBSCO, InfoTrac, and CINAHL.
- Located and obtained books,
journals, and audio-visual materials as requested.
When material not on-site, networked, referred, and/or
borrowed through interlibrary loan.
- Wrote Programs in PERL to
facilitate the inclusion of E-Books into the library’s online catalog,
saving many hours that would have been required if the changes had been
made by hand.
- Developed instructional
literature, including bibliographies and webliographies.

maintained Toll Booth Lane Controller software and documentation.
Performed
on-site travel and troubleshooting.
- Created enhancements
and performed troubleshooting on Lane Controller software that allowed
the
software to support new features.
- Created driver to
control a Changeable Message Sign.
- Overhauled an
existing driver that communicated with SAIC VES system.
- Wrote software to
communicate with another computer via UDP sockets.
- Designed a way
for a Weigand Card Reader to interface to the Lane Controller.
- Helped debug
problems in Lane Controller that caused VES pictures to be taken at the
wrong
time.

- Created enhancements
and performed troubleshooting on existing Call Processing.
- Created a phone
test case using CDMA test equipment, automation software, and a Perl
script, that
produced a savings of 10 man-hours per week.

interviews with candidate software engineers.

- Designed, developed and maintained
embedded telephone
software and documentation.
- Designed and
developed a communications driver that allowed communication between a
new PBX
phone system and a diagnostics monitor.
- Designed and developed
software for a new Wireless Local Loop phone product, Single Subscriber
Station
(SSS) that sold 10’s of thousands of units.
GAMMA-METRICS/THERMO-ELECTRON

Software Engineer
- Designed, developed and
maintained analytical software. Acted as
customer interface, including on-site travel and troubleshooting.
- Designed,
developed, documented and maintained a software package for an on-line
chemical
analyzer that consisted of several programs running on a multi-user
preemptive multitasking
operating system. The analyzer produced over $100 million in sales.
- Created a
software program to automate the flow of coal at a mine, saving
millions of
dollars annually.
- Trained 20 field
engineers, manufacturing personnel and customers on an ongoing basis in
the use
of on-line chemical analyzer software in both informal and classroom
settings.
