The Smallblock
At a not-yet-disclosed point on the mountain is a small block of a crag with gently overhanging east and north faces. Two routes go up the blunt NE arete, one on each side.
Horny Toad Marmalade 5.11- * The right-hand of the two routes on the NE Arete. Starts on the blunt arete, then heads up through greenish rock towards the big ledge, then into black stuff. (Josie Becker, Joe Shiefman, John Baker, Oct 2009)
Ellis Three 5.11 ** The left-hand of the two routes on the NE Arete, this one is really ON the arete up high. Starts at an obvious big flake and heads up into scrappy-looking (but cleaned up) rock. Rock gets better as you get higher. Somewhat overbolted because the hollow rock really limited our options down low. (John Baker, Joe Shiefman, Josie Becker, Steve Johnson, Aug 2009)
On the East face...
East Face Right (not drilled completely) 5.11- ** This 60 foot route starts at a prominent layback flake with a cool pocket. At the top of the flake, it wanders right, then up, then diagonals left, up through the center of the east face. (Joe Shiefman, John Baker, Josie Becker, Steve Johnson, ??? 2009)
East Face Left (not drilled completely) 5.12 ** Start a few feet right of the layback flake mentioned above. Delicate slabby start leads to a powerful overhanging section. As the difficulty eases, it collides with the above route. Trend left at that point through another bulge, up to the high point of the crag. (John Baker, Josie Becker, Joe Shiefman, ??? 2009)
Nearby at Three Sisters
The East Sister has two routes on its west face.
Maybellene 5.10 * A fun short route with a tricky start on the left side of the face. (Joe Shiefman, John Baker, July 2009)
No Money Down 5.11 ** An obscure gem follows a seam up the center of the west face. Could be done without the bolts. I will chop them if enough people care. I haven't got back to redpoint this route yet. (J Baker, J Shiefman, ??? 2009)
