Generation Two
2. Margaret2 Bechtelsheimer (Johan1) was born on 27 Apr 1723. She married Abraham Lawshe, son of Johannes Jacob Van Laaschet and Cathrine (--?--).1 She died on 28 Nov 1814 at age 91.
Children of Margaret2 Bechtelsheimer and Abraham Lawshe all born Amwell, Hunterdon, NJ, were as follows:
3. Abraham2 Picklesimer Sr (Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born before 1729.1 He married Christenah (--?--).1,2,3
He and Christenah (--?--) lived between 1782 and 1790 Botetourt County, VA. He and Christenah (--?--) lived between 1791 and 1795 Montgomery County, VA.4 He and Christenah (--?--) lived between 1796 and 1802 Botetourt County, VA.
Children of Abraham2 Picklesimer Sr and Christenah (--?--) were as follows:
-
+ 14 i. Jacob3 Beckelhimer Jr, b. 20 Aug 1761; m. Christina (--?--).
-
+ 15 ii. Daniel Beckelhymer, b. between 1761 and 1763; m. Anna (--?--).
-

-
20 vii. David Pickelsimer was born circa 1781. He married Sarah Moore, daughter of Sarah (--?--), circa 14 Jun 1802 Franklin County, VA.5
He lived on 23 Sep 1806 Grayson County, VA. Note: this David has not been conclusively established as the son of Abraham, Sr. There were 3 David Picklesimers who show up in the early VA records, each thought to have been a son of one of the elder Picklesimers, John, Sr, Abraham, Sr or Jacob, Sr. In this descendancy narrative, the David who was the progenitor of one of the branches of the Eastern KY Picklesimers and who married Sarah Prater is shown as the son of John, Sr; the David who married Elizabeth Smith is shown as the son of Jacob, Sr; and the David who married Sarah Moore is shown as the son of Abraham, Sr. This alignment is logical and based on an analysis of the available evidence, mostly circumstantial, but is believed to reflect the most likely scenario in the opinion of the author. Note also that a David was reported to have married Elizabeth Sailor. This David is shown in the missing links section of the author's web page as this marriage was reported in error and this David did not, in fact, exist.
4. John2 Picklesimer Sr (Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1732. He married Sophia Slingluff, daughter of Henry Slingluff, circa 1753 PA.1,6 He married Anne (--?--) circa 1759.1,6 He married Elizabeth Rinker, daughter of (--?--) Rinker, circa 1780.1,7,6 He died circa 1805 Franklin County, VA.1
Note: date of birth estimated from date on birth of eldest child, John, Jr. He was a reedmaker.1 Note that census enumerations, Aaron Sargent Behymer's diary, etc for the most part, indicate VA as the birthplace of most of John, Sr's children. This is not consistent with the known location of John, Sr via land transactions where he seems to have migrated from the PA/NJ area to Frederick County, MD circa 1770, then on to Botetourt/Montgomery County, VA circa 1780 and then on to Franklin County, VA circa 1795. One of the census enumerations for John, Sr's son, Nathaniel, does, however, indicate MD as Nathaniel's birthplace (and in other census enumerations his birthplace is listed as VA). Most of John, Sr's children undoubtedly grew up in VA, and so, in the author's opinion, listed VA as their birthplace incorrectly. He was naturalized in NJ on 11 Aug 1755. This was a necessary requirement to allow him to purchase land. He lived on 10 Mar 1761 in Amwell, Hunterdon County, NJ. He lived between 1771 and 1778 Frederick County, MD. He lived between 1783 and 1789 Botetourt County, VA. He lived between 1790 and 1795 Montgomery County, VA. He lived between 1795 and 1805 Franklin County, VA.

Note: according to an 1893 newspaper article in the Clermont Courier, Daniel was married, but had no children. It is likely, therefore, that the 2 male children enumerated with him in the 1820 census were not his sons, since they do not show up living with him in the 1830 census.9 He lived between 1802 and 1805 Franklin County, VA. He and Mary France appeared on the census of 1820 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.10 He and Mary France appeared on the census of 1830 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.11 He lived after 1832 Campbell County, KY.
