He and Mary Kingery appeared on the census of 1810 Montgomery County, VA.67,46 He and Mary Kingery appeared on the census of 1820 Montgomery County, VA.68,69 Note: In this descendancy narrative, Abraham, Jr is shown as the son of Abraham, Sr based on the close association of Abraham, Jr and Abraham, Sr in the VA land transactions. This choice is based on an analysis of the available evidence, mostly circumstantial, but is believed to reflect the most likely scenario in the opinion of the author.
Children of Abraham3 Beckelhymer Jr and Mary Kingery were as follows:

19. Joseph3 Picklesimer (Abraham2, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1776. He married Susanna Trout, daughter of Jacob Trout, on 17 Aug 1797 Franklin County, VA.5 He died before 1810.

Children of Joseph3 Picklesimer and Susanna Trout were as follows:

21. John3 Behymer Jr (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born on 18 Aug 1754 in most likely the vicinity of Amwell, Hunterdown County, NJ.70,1 He married Barbara Weddle, daughter of Martin Weddle and Kathrine (--?--), circa 1779.71,1,72,73 He died on 9 Nov 1812 at age 58.15,74,75,1,70 He was buried circa 9 Nov 1812 in Behymer Private Cemetery on Old Nash Farm (10 Mile Road), Pierce Township, Clermont County, OH.75,70
Note: The DAR cemetery listings for Clermont County, OH record a John Behymer listed as buried on the hillside opposite the Pierce township Cemetery next to his wife, Sarah A with footstones: JB and BB. In the author's opinion, the DAR ladies read the tombstone of John's wife incorrectly as Sarah A instead of Barbara. Likely, the tombstone was weathered and hard to read, and Sarah A (alternating consonants between the letter "A") was mistakenly recorded for Barbara (also the same pattern of consonants and vowels). He lived between 1782 and 1789 Botetourt County, VA. He lived between 1791 and 1803 Franklin County, VA. He lived after 1805 Clermont County, OH.76,15,71,77

She stayed in VA, not coming to Clermont County, OH according to Aaron Sargent Behymer in his diary.15 Note: Elizabeth's date of birth as given in the 1830 census is between 1750 and 1760 and in the 1840 census as between 1760 and 1770. I have assumed the latter in placing her mother as Anne ?. If the former, then her mother would have been Sophia Slingluff. She and Melcher Waggoner appeared on the census of 1820 Franklin County, VA.81 She and Melcher Waggoner appeared on the census of 1830 Franklin County, VA.82 She and Melcher Waggoner appeared on the census of 1840 Franklin County, VA.83

23. Samuel3 Behymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born on 19 Jan 1763 in most likely the vicinity of Amwell, Hunterdown County, NJ or Germantown, PA.84,70 He married Catherine Logan, daughter of William Logan and Margaret (--?--), on 20 Mar 1793 Franklin County, VA.15,71,5,85 He married Mary Parvin, daughter of Enoch Parvin and Ruth Davis, on 11 Oct 1818 Clermont County, OH.15,86,87,88,85,89 He died on 27 Nov 1848 Clermont County, OH at age 85.88,90,85,70 He was buried circa 27 Nov 1848 in Behymer Private Cemetery (10 Mile Road), Pierce Township, Clermont County, OH.90,85,70

Children of Samuel3 Behymer and Mary Parvin were as follows:

24. David3 Picklesimer Sr (John2, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1767. He married Sarah Prater, daughter of Archibald Prater and Sarah Fugate, on 15 Apr 1817 Floyd County, KY.
He may have been married prior to his marriage to Sarah Prator. He was the progenitor of one of the branches of the Eastern Kentucky Picklesimers. See "The Picklesimers of Eastern Kentucky" by John Wayne and John Walter Picklesimer or the latter's web page for their descendants. Note: the parents of David, Sr are not conclusively known, but family legend has it that he was a brother of Abraham Adam. He is shown as a son of John, Sr in this descendancy narrative, based on the close association Samuel had with his brother David as described in Aaron Sargent Behymer's diary, coupled with the fact that he was the only David old enough, in the author's opinion, likely to have had a close association with a brother who was born in 1763. In a Clermont Courier newspaper article of 1893, it is stated that David "stayed in VA, not coming to OH." True, this David did not come to Clermont County, OH, but he didn't exactly stay in VA either, as he migrated from VA to Floyd County, KY and may, in fact, have later migrated to OH (TBD). Another fact to ponder is that Jonathan Beckelhymer, a Mormon and David's brother, if the author is correct in his assertion, did not have a deceased brother, David baptized at the Nauvoo Temple, as he did other close relatives circa 1845. Whether or not David was alive in 1845 is unknown as he seems to have left his family and disappeared circa 1822. Thus, his brother, Jonathan might not have had any knowledge if his brother were dead or alive in 1845. David stayed in VA, not coming to Clermont County, OH according to Aaron Sargent Behymer in his diary. Note: this David has not been conclusively established as the son of John, Sr. There were 3 David Picklesimers who show up in the early VA records, each thought to have been a son of one of the elder Picklesimers, John, Sr, Abraham, Sr or Jacob, Sr. In this descendancy narrative, the David who was the progenitor of one of the branches of the Eastern KY Picklesimers and who married Sarah Prater is shown as the son of John, Sr; the David who married Elizabeth Smith is shown as the son of Jacob, Sr; and the David who married Sarah Moore is shown as the son of Abraham, Sr. This alignment is logical and based on an analysis of the available evidence, mostly circumstantial, but is believed to reflect the most likely scenario in the opinion of the author. Note also that a David was reported to have married Elizabeth Sailor. This David is shown in the missing links section of the author's web page as this marriage was reported in error and this David did not, in fact, exist. He and Sarah Prater appeared on the census of 1820 Greenup County, KY.105
Children of David3 Picklesimer Sr and Sarah Prater were as follows:

25. Anne3 Beckelhymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born on 17 Jul 1771 Frederick County, MD. She married John Beckett, son of Richard Beckett and Susanna (--?--), on 17 Dec 1788 Botetourt County, VA.106,107
She stayed in VA, not coming to Clermont County, OH according to Aaron Sargent Behymer in his diary.15 She and John Beckett appeared on the census of 1810 Montgomery County, VA.46 She and John Beckett appeared on the census of 1820 Montgomery County, VA.69 She and John Beckett appeared on the census of 1830 Montgomery County, VA.108 She appeared on the census of 1840 Floyd County, VA.109
Children of Anne3 Beckelhymer and John Beckett all born Botetourt, VA, were as follows:

26. Joseph3 Bechtelheimer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born between 1771 and 1772 Frederick County, MD. He married Christina Lazena, daughter of John Lazena and Elizabeth Dillbone, on 21 Mar 1793 Franklin County, VA.71,110,5 He died on 7 Aug 1833 in Stony Creek Township, Henry County, IN.110,111,112,113 He was buried circa 7 Aug 1833 in Bundy Cemetery, Stony Creek, Henry County, IN.110,111,112,113
He lived between 1793 and 1794 Franklin County, VA. He lived between 1795 and 1803 Montgomery County, VA. He lived between 1803 and 1830 Clermont County, OH. He and Christina Lazena appeared on the census of 1820 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.114 He and Christina Lazena appeared on the census of 1830 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.115
Children of Joseph3 Bechtelheimer and Christina Lazena were as follows:

27. Nathaniel3 Behymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1773 Frederick County, MD.116 He married Anna Magdalena Ferguson VA.117,118 He married Diadama Manning, daughter of Thomas Manning and Anna Todd, on 3 Apr 1817 Clermont County, OH.119,117,120,121,118 He died on 19 Dec 1860 Clermont County, OH.121,118,70 He was buried circa 19 Dec 1860 in Amelia IOOF Cemetery, Batavia Township, Clermont County, OH.121,118,70
Note: the surname of Nathaniel's first wife has not been conclusively established. It is thought to have been Ferguson based on her having been buried in the Ferguson Cemetery in Clermont County, OH. He lived between 1796 and 1797 Montgomery County, VA. He lived in 1800 Botetourt County, VA.122 He lived after 1805 Clermont County, OH. Children of Nathaniel3 Behymer and Anna Magdalena Ferguson were as follows:
Children of Nathaniel3 Behymer and Diadama Manning were as follows:

28. Abraham Adam3 Picklesimer (John2, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born on 4 Jun 1775 Frederick County, MD.125 He married Elizabeth Prater, daughter of Thomas Prater, on 29 Jul 1800 Franklin County, VA.125 He died on 11 Oct 1823 Floyd County, KY at age 48.125 He was buried circa 11 Oct 1823 in Abraham Adam Picklesimer (aka McKenzie Family) Cemetery, Volga, Johnson County, KY.
He lived between 1798 and 1804 Franklin County, VA. He was the progenitor of one of the branches of the Eastern Kentucky Picklesimers. See "The Picklesimers of Eastern Kentucky" by John Wayne and John Walter Picklesimer or the latter's web page for their descendants. Note: the parents of Abraham Adam are not conclusively known. In this descendancy narrative, Abraham Adam is shown as the son of John, Sr until such time as his parentage can be conclusively determined. This choice is based on an analysis of the available evidence, mostly circumstantial, but is believed to reflect the most likely scenario in the opinion of the author. In the Nauvoo Temple Baptisms of the dead records Jonathan (son of John, Sr) lists two separate Abrahams - one as a brother and one as an uncle. Abraham Adam of the VA records is believed by the author to be the brother. Abraham, Sr is obviously the uncle. An Abraham is not listed as one of the brothers of those who migrated to Clermont County circa 1800 as recorded in an 1893 Clermont Courier newspaper article, however. One is left to wonder why. The fact that this article was written many years after the events took place may explain the omission. Jonathan's information as recorded in the Nauvoo Temple records, being direct evidence is, in the author's opinion, the more persuasive. Abraham Adam's birth date also fits in well with the birth dates of the other children of John, Sr, in addition to which the naming pattern of Abraham Adam's children is almost the same as those of John, Sr, i.e., it seems that Abraham Adam named his children after his siblings. Only the son, Thomas, likely named after his wife's father, Thomas Prator, deviates from this pattern. He lived in 1808 Gallia County, OH. He and Elizabeth Prater appeared on the census of 1810 Floyd County, KY.126 He and Elizabeth Prater appeared on the census of 1820 Floyd County, KY.127
Children of Abraham Adam3 Picklesimer and Elizabeth Prater were as follows:

29. Jacob3 Behymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1778 VA.128 He married Elizabeth France, daughter of John France and Magdalena (--?--).93 He died circa 9 Aug 1862 Clermont County, OH.129
He lived between 1801 and 1805 Franklin County, VA. He and Elizabeth France appeared on the census of 1820 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.10 He and Elizabeth France appeared on the census of 1830 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.11 He and Elizabeth France appeared on the census of 1840 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.130 He and Elizabeth France appeared on the census of 4 Oct 1850 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.128 He and Elizabeth France appeared on the census of 11 Jun 1860 in Pierce Township, Clermont County, OH.131
Children of Jacob3 Behymer and Elizabeth France were as follows:

30. Solomon3 Behymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born on 10 Dec 1781 Botetourt County, VA.134,135,70 He married Mary B Webb, daughter of Samuel Webb and Rebecca (--?--), circa Feb 1804 Franklin County, VA.5 He died on 8 Dec 1858 Clermont County, OH at age 76.134,135,70 He was buried circa 8 Dec 1858 in Mt Holly Congregational Chapel (aka Hamlet) Cemetery, Batavia Township, Clermont County, OH.134,135,70
He lived between 1802 and 1816 Franklin County, VA. He and Mary B Webb appeared on the census of 1810 Franklin County, VA.136 He lived between 1817 and 1824 Garrard County, KY. He and Mary B Webb appeared on the census of 1820 Garrard County, KY.137 He and Mary B Webb appeared on the census of 1830 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.11 He and Mary B Webb appeared on the census of 23 Jul 1850 in Batavia Township, District No 22, Clermont County, OH.138
Children of Solomon3 Behymer and Mary B Webb were as follows:

31. Enoch3 Beckelhymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1783 Botetourt County, VA. He married Sarah Kinsey, daughter of Jacob Kinsey and Juliann Lemon.142 He died circa 10 Aug 1816 in Ohio Township, Clermont County, OH.142
According to Aaron Sargent Behymer in his diary, "an Enos Behymer lived only a very short time in Clermont County, OH and moved west. One of his descendants was living in St Louis, and worked for the Globe Democrat." It is believed by the author that Enos and Enoch were one and the same person, even though Enoch died in Clermont County circa 10 Aug 1816. Enoch's wife, Sarah Kinsey later married Abraham Stoner on 21 Mar 1822 in Preble County, OH. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Montgomery County, OH where Abraham died in Feb 1829. After her second husband's death, Sarah later moved to Porter County, IN where she died on 10 May 1856. The author believes that Porter County, IN was the "west" that Aaron Sargent Behymer referred to in his diary. Sarah's children by Enoch are believed by the author to be those who conducted land transactions and/or were married in Montgomery County, OH during the same period that their mother was living in that county. Many of these same children also ended up in Porter County, IN, the same county that their mother had migrated to. Most, if not all, of their children were born in KY, which is also consistent with the fact that Enoch shows up on the tax rolls of Campbell County, KY during the same timeframe. Lastly, the naming pattern of Enoch's children is consistent with the names of Enoch's siblings.15 He and Sarah Kinsey lived between 1814 and 1815 Campbell County, KY.
Children of Enoch3 Beckelhymer and Sarah Kinsey were as follows:

33. (--?--)3 Beckelhymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1786 Botetourt (later Montgomery) County, VA. She married (--?--) Lower.
Note: Jonathan (son of John Behymer Sr) had a niece, Sarah Lower, recorded in the Nauvoo Temple Baptisms of the dead circa 1845. Based on this, John Sr likely had a daughter (name unknown) who married a Lower. Michael Lower (born 24 Jun 1742) and his family were living in Montgomery County, VA from 1802 to 1806 and in Clermont County, OH from 1806 to 1810, the same two counties and timeframes where the Behymers were known to have lived. Likely, one of the sons of Michael Lower (which one is unknown) married a daughter of John Behymer, Sr. The author believes that this daughter of John, Sr was by his last wife, Elizabeth Rinker based on the fact that she was likely born after 1785 since all 12 people in John Sr's household per the 1785 list of tithables for Botetourt County, VA are accounted for.
Children of (--?--)3 Beckelhymer and (--?--) Lower were as follows:

35. Joel3 Behymer (John2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born on 31 Mar 1789 Botetourt (later Montgomery) County, VA.121,93,144,145 He married Eve France, daughter of John France and Magdalena (--?--), in Sep 1810 Clermont County, OH.146 He married Mary Brunaugh on 26 Nov 1840 Clermont County, OH.147 He married Mary H Rice, daughter of Holman Rice and Susannah (--?--), on 3 Jun 1851 Clermont County, OH.148 He died on 16 Jan 1873 in Pierce Township, Clermont County, OH at age 83.149,90,144 He was buried circa 16 Jan 1873 in Amelia IOOF Cemetery, Batavia Township, Clermont County, OH.121,90,70

39. David3 Pickelheimer (Jacob2 Picklesimer, Johan1 Bechtelsheimer) was born circa 1773. He married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Ebenezer Smith and Lydia (--?--), on 18 Jan 1794 Montgomery, VA.176 He died circa Jul 1818 Clermont or Hamilton County, OH.
He was also known as David Beckelhymer. He lived between 1794 and 1800 Montgomery County, VA. Note: date of birth estimated from date of marriage. He and Elizabeth Smith lived between 1805 and 1808 Campbell County, KY.
