The Black Dolphin

Black dolphins everywhere, everything I see,
In the particles of rain and on my shoulders when I sleep,
Diving into my dreams, secretly and deep,
Ebony raven skin emerges from the dark blue sea.

When long-winded wings rise from Poseidon’s realm
And sphinxlike eyes absorb the world’s light
I feel mystification anchor inside, in the disguise of the night,
Dolphin’s arms accompany me to the edges of dawn.

The black dolphin stalks me, invades me, consistently,
I feel you when I close my eyes and bury my sight,
I taste you when you stand there, in the moonlight,
I feel your heart boundlessly beating inside mine.

You’re the lizard on my shoulder and the hawk inside my heart,
The conundrum of my reverie,
The rush of my urgency;
The black dolphin swims underneath my hands,
My fingers kiss his mystery.

Black dolphins everywhere I go,
The sky tumbles into the open arms of the deep blue,
The setting sun struggles to come through the thick liquid
That throbs with life from long ago.

Stars explode in their purity,
The moon shines with its nudity,
You toss immortality aside, force the time to die
And I lose every perception of reality.

The black dolphin sleeps in my blood,
He walks with the wind and drinks from its perennial veins,
In my heart he leaves some black stains
While the sea dissolves itself in its overwhelming flood.

I see black dolphins in the sky,
My eyes become mystified and blind,
I draw in their scent while the wind cries,
I know it’s you, swimming through the sky.

An Angel’s Voice

A timid smile broke
The silence of the room
It altered a ripple in the air.

Husky words that some lips spoke
Unwrapped the night and its gloom,
They set the wind in motion
That carried away tiny pieces of you.

I see a hand that doesn’t dare
To reach out and touch the ocean,
A whisper out of the blue
Lingers and captivates my mind.

Forgotten melodies
That souls still recall
From time to time
An angel plays them in my heart.

Childhood fairytales and stories
That men never ignore
For one golden dime
Some voice tells them to my heart.

La luna

Una luna crucificada
En tibias heladas,
Una conciencia rota
Hundida en la nada,
Perdida, como una gota.

La respiración del cielo,
Huracan delirante,
Recién nacida y muerta
En espiral,
El cielo sofocante.

La luna en trance
Oblicua, en fuga vertiginosa,
Volaba llorando,
Bajaba a la tierra
A besar la sombra.

The Moon

A crucified moon
In lukewarm coldness,
A broken conscience
Absorbed in nothingness,
Lost, like a drop of water.

Respiration of the sky,
Delirious hurricane,
Newborn and deceased
In a twist,
Suffocating sky.

The moon in a trance
Oblique, in vertiginous escape,
Was flying and crying,
Came down to the ground
To kiss the shade.

Abandono

Abandonment

Then he closed his eyes and the world stopped
My blood ceased to flow through the valleys of my veins
Then his lips spoke no more
The moon was ruptured
My soul danced no more on the shores of my sorrow.

The sky stopped bowing down and offering me its clouds
And the rain no longer burned my bare shoulders
His serenity and my loneliness walked no more
Hand in hand along the seashore
And the rainbow quit knitting its nodes over the world.

Then he left and the candles extinguished
My worlds stumbled
Leaving only pieces of yellow stones in his coffee mug
He vanished like the night at dawn
Stealing all my faith.

Rivers of tears inundated my skin
And the daughters of hope got lost in the forests amidst shadows
The eternal dreams left,
My loyal companions
Only their honey flavour remained on my tongue.

His love ran away through broken windows of my bedroom
My soul quit flying in the skies, quit dreaming, quit breathing
My gods lost their magic, their spells, their power
With impetuous pride
They fell from paradise to submerge in the sea.

Then he left me like this, so fragile, so broken
He left me transparent and lost like a single tear
Another shadow to capture
Another moon to extinguish
Another choked breath to suffocate.

Illumination

Enlighten me
Oh my heaven breaker
Put my anger at ease
Engulf me
Oh my rumbling god
Shed your light on me.

Beware
Oh my soul shaker
Beware of my hidden fear,
Vicious heart;
Imprison me
Rescue my runaway fate
Shed your light on me.

See me
As I am
Behold my savagery
Contemplate my body
Follow me
As I follow you.

Bury me underneath you
Decay’s rules won’t apply
Purify me
Oh my rain maker
Desert kisses your feet
Shed your light on me.

Blue on Black

Some kind of darkness
Reigns in the world of night
Like blue on black,
And tears on a river
Don't mean much.

Some kind of sadness
Around a broken heart
Like adding push to shove
And match to the fire
Don't change a thing.

Some kind of loneliness
Lives in a deserted house
Like whisper on a scream
And cold on ice
Don't mean a thing.

No talking walls,
No flying ghosts
Across the corridors,
Not even some lost soul
Abandoned somewhere
Between rooms.

Sadness on hopelessness
Doesn’t leave any tracks,
Salt on an open wound;
You don’t feel anyway
Anymore.

‘Cause time has gone,
A second of a minute
Doesn’t mean much
When it’s all over and done.

Man’s Enemies

Man’s 4 enemies: Fear, Clarity of Mind, Power, Old Age.
Inspired by: Carlos Castaneda’s "The Teachings of Don
Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge."

She makes you do things
You would never do,
She forces you down
And bends your knees,
She smothers you in your sleep.
She is hard and treacherous,
Never uncovered, always
Hiding in the corners of your soul,
Always concealed.
At your every turn
She is waiting, prowling,
Until she sees you,
Then she gets hold of you
And doesn’t want to let you go.
You fight one of the battles of your life
And usually succumb to her.
You know her very well.
From the first moment
You spotted her,
When she laid eyes on you,
She met your eyes first.

You can only fight her
With your second enemy.

She lightens up the heavens for you
And in the same moment
Blinds you,
Steals your daylight.
Pretends to be your friend
And opens up ways to you,
Ways you’ve always dreamed of,
Ways you always wanted to walk,
But she leaves you bald and naked
Out there,
Without protection or shelter.
She is like a fox,
Wise and clever,
Whispers to you the most marvelous secrets
Men have ever heard
Right into your ear,
Like a lizard on your shoulder.
She makes you incomplete.

And awakes
Your third enemy.

He is strong and beautiful,
Charming,
Always tempting,
Always willing to seduce you,
The strongest among your enemies.
He flatters you
And places a burden upon your fate.
He makes you feel both ways,
Sweet and strong,
Able to reign over the world around you.
And while you’re whirling and turning
Under him,
He steals your soul
And closes your heart,
Leaving deep wounds inside you
That you are never to see or discover.
He sacrifices himself to you
And offers you the world
On a silver plate,
Demanding nothing in return.
And when you think he belongs to you,
When you think you've conquered him,
You discover he never was yours
And never will be.

Man’s last enemy
Is the cruelest of all,
The one you will never defeat,
But only fight away,
Breath by breath,
Step by step,
With the strength he leaves to you.
But he will always come back,
Never tired or weak,
Never losing the goal from his sight
And at last he will claim
What he came for.
But it would feel so good
To surrender to him,
To his warm embrace
That wraps you up like wings
In his invisible arms,
Easing away your tiredness,
Erasing the marks left by your life.
He soothes your fatigue
And cuts you down,
Simultaneously
Promising the alleged
Uninterrupted flow
That you've longed for all of your life.

But does this path of his
Have a heart?

A Second Return

He found me again
I thought I had freed myself
But there he was, embraced by his ghosts,
A layer of evil thoughts and wandering whispers.

I don’t hide,
I don’t run,
Nowhere to escape to anyway.
I laid bare my soul to him again,
He took it
And shook it
Looking for bits of glass and life in it,
To drink from my blood.

What will you tell me this time?
No replay.
Only a feeling of pure helplessness
And some forbidden awareness coming
from the depth of my depths.

Maybe I called for him and he heard my cry,
Maybe I prayed for him to come
And he answered my plea,
Maybe I beseeched him and he obeyed.

So here he was again,
Invisible, crystal glowing, lucid,
Ready to lure whoever crosses his scent,
Ready to suck in every bit of life around.
Good and evil at one time,
Benign and merciless in one breath,
He comes to rescue me and doom me
Simultaneously.

I don’t run,
I don’t hide,
Frozen and paralyzed by his thoughts,
Spellbound by his reverie, perpetual and timeless,
Calling me silently,
Wordless, insisting.
Like the way I commanded him,
Now I do his bidding.
Once I showed him the world behind its veil,
Now he shows me the world as it lives and dies,
He shows me the world without disguise.

Words

Words
Beautifully shaped little statues,
Words
Sculptures made of graphite, ink or print
Are like a piano cascading notes.

Letters come to life by your hand
Melt as soon as they are born
Die engraved onto white surfaces.

Words
Gracefully caresses your mind.
Words
Can drive a dagger deep into your heart.

Letters
Neatly lined up in tiny rows
Can trap, seduce you,
Entangle,
Can be the crown’s thorns
Hurting and bruising you.

Words
There are millions of them,
So tell me:

Why do I always struggle to find the right
…words?

Our Kind

I reach out my hands
To the faces,
Empty and hard.
These pictures of old fences
Resting on the solid ground,
Staring at the people around
Are engraved in my mind.

Silent witnesses to centuries
Overcrowded with our kind,
Guards of their houses
With spirits rambling on their own,
Celebrating carnivals of lost souls
In someone else’s home.

I reach out my hands
To the faces,
Rigid and relentless,
I wonder if they are a mirror of my own,
Trying to find a piece of liveliness
In these faces of marble stone.

I sought the roots
On paths of trial and tribulation,
Searched for the cores
Of our mortal civilisation,
Of our treacherous morality
And dark insanity.

Now I still don’t know
Ghosts of my ilk,
Mothers and fathers
Living centuries ago.
But these pictures I found
Of witnesses to our kind

Bleeding Hearts

While your heart lies bleeding in your hands,
My day turns into night
In between of the last rays of the aurora and the twilight,
While the rolling of your wave never ends,
You wave me a languishing farewell through your night,
It reaches me by the break of day,
Pours over me, while the moon slowly yields.
While your wings lie resting in my arms,
Folded and black, sleeping and dreaming here between my hands,
I feel deserted and emptied by your love,
Swept over and engulfed by the kiss of your craving that lies above
The sleeping moon of your night and the agonising touch of my sun,
I feel you like the tearing cry of a dove.
Every night when you sleep,
I stay awake and bleed
Here in my empty and solitary state of heart
Because I don’t know if I’m in your dreams
And I don’t know the taste of your tears,
Salt water falling and blending into the dark blue.
While my dreams go wandering through the vast valleys of your world,
Glimpsing only the edges of what is your truth,
They meet the black dolphin racing after his youth,
They try to caress and soothe his aching soul, so bold.
While my dreams go rushing after rainbows on your distant horizon,
Chasing them nights on end,
Your heart lies here in my bleeding hand.

The Visitor

I saw him beside me
Like a crooked shadow of myself
Standing in lonely solitude
In The breeze that swept majestically
Along the houses,
Appearing so nude,
Standing there in lonely solitude
Between the wild flowers and poppies.
I saw him in the twilight,
Walking on air
On the edge of night,
Talking to the ghosts of future and past,
Constantly calling me
To make it too good to last.

He looked daggers at me,
Felt the trembling of my soul,
Saw the red drops
Running from wounded hearts
And dipped his fingers into it.

I surrendered to his whispering breeze,
Let him ease my senses
And abandoned myself to the wind
Coming from the bending trees
On far away hills.

One last time
My mind pulled on the reins of reason,
One last time
Convicted me of treason,
One last time
I heard the voice of prior warning
Of the final decline,
But my soul had already committed the crime.

Who are you, deed of my thoughts?
The spirit from the cage?
Out of seclusion?
A reflection or an illusion?
A doorway to a timeless world
Sunk in millennium,
Which struggles to be resurrected
And never again rejected?

Who are you?
One who touches my lashes,
One who creates statues from ashes.
They say to me, “Nobody will redeem you
From these singing flames,
Be careful that we don’t condemn you
To such hells.”

But a soul seeks a soul,
That’s what they say
And some people are too weak to resist
Even if some day they have to pay their debts.

Come to me,
I’ll make you illuminate
The earth behind its veil,
Rescuer of the lost and damned,
I promise you,
You didn’t come in vain.

Love Is

Love is the light you wear,
The radiant shining in your eyes
Love is a drop of water in your palm, blue and clear,
The sweet smell of honey on your skin.

Love is morning with sun crushing in,
Sun that rose in the middle of the night
Love is feeling your words on my skin,
A sea of burning rays diving into it.

Love is my thirst to look into your eyes,
Hunger for the sound of your voice
Love is the touch that never dies,
The burning of your kisses on my lips.

Love is a warm breeze escaped from the cold,
A drop of dew moistening the wings of a bird
Love is the end of loneliness and the dark,
The thorn you put into my heart.

Love is you beside me, though so far away,
The perfume of a sweet illusion
Love is a night breaking into day,
The memory of something good without a shape.

Love is the yearning for all your soul,
The smells of roses and mist becoming one
Love is being home
Bewitched with spells of the hearth.

Love is fantasy turned into reality,
Water easing over stone
Love is knowing you with clarity,
Freedom of a bird in flight.

Love is passion, obsession and craziness,
Being delirious because of happiness
Love is a fever that burns inside,
A fire that eats up the mind.

Love is the flame that sets your heart on fire,
The final rescue of a forgotten soul
Love is stepping over the edges of desire,
A lost dream taking shape.

Love is music for the deaf and sunlight for the blind,
Looking through a kaleidoscope full of funny glass
Love is the sound of your voice in the night,
The air filled with your presence.

Love is the meaning of life and the reason to be,
A wave swimming in the middle of an ocean
Love is you, love is me,
Fear of losing you, though you’re here.

The Return

He came again
Surrounded by hands
Made of fog and mist,
His thoughts
Transparent and lucid.
Walking in shadows
In his separate world,
Embraced by the ghosts
He had subjugated
And made his.

He came without warning.
Not even a tiny sign
He crept into my thoughts
And listened.
Crawled into the maze of my mind,
Exploring every corner
And then, into my heart.
Sneaked into the blood-stream,
Bathed in those pools
Satiating his appetites.

I felt the breeze
Sweeping by my lashes,
Felt the delicate breathing air
And his presence moving through me.

The heavens became dull and gray
Hanging down,
Falling off the sky
Threatening the world
And its ignorant charade,
Its disdaining eyes
Like a welder of discord.
Crashing waters started to fall
Causing the grass to writhe with pain
And thunder began to roll.

Invisible to human eyes
His sliding, subtle movements,
Inaudible his silent whispering
Tearing on my memories
Of long forgotten sins.

But there it is, again,
I hear the sounds of his presence,
The sighings of the wind.
I can see him swell and fill the room
A rippling of the air.

Am I to know now?
Did you come to tell me
Of that dilapidated realm
Of emblems, keepsakes and prophecies
Where you reign?
Are you here to stay?
Is this what you came for?
Or will you again
Dissolve
And drift away?

The Crow

Don’t turn around
Don’t look back
At the black shadows
Behind you.

Just kiss me with your eyes.

Never believe what you see
Between the dark corners
Of your street
When Ghosts are on the loose.

Just marry me with your heart.

Never stop under a hanging tree,
Don’t let its arms embrace you,
Caress you,
It could be the beginning of the end.

Just love me with your spirit.

Don’t let your ears cheat on you,
They hear what they want to
And your mind is lying to you anyway.

Just open me with your wings.

Never create dividing lies
Between fear and love,
They’re melted together
Like the wings and feathers of a bird.

Just cover me with your faith.

Don’t be afraid of black tears,
They won’t make you blind,
They will cleanse your soul
And the world.

Just hold me with your love.

Listen to the night,
Its whispers are telling you the truth.
Take a ride on the roller coaster
Of disguised faces.

And touch me with your soul.

World above my Head

Cold air,
Nothing friendly in it,
Nothing sweet.
Hostile wind,
Nothing gentle in it,
Nothing soothing
Or smoothing.

No gentle breeze
Putting me at ease,
No radiant lights
Shining through,
No New Orleans nights
With streets of rescue.

Cold waters
With engulfing waves,
No embraces of silky blue,
No soft sands
Hugging your feet,
Only swallowing them.

And I hear
And I feel
The screams of the wind
Near my ear.
