November 2003 - Some pictures I took now that we have started to settle in.

Saturday, September 13, 2003 - Carpet is done, I also took some pictures of the back deck and patio.

Thursday, September 11, 2003 - Carpet pad and tack board is down, also some pictures of the electrical panel, furnace, and water heater.

Friday, September 5, 2003 - Exterior painted, hard wood floors are stained.

Thursday, August 28, 2003 - Deck is finished, walls are painted, fireplace is in, cabinets and countertops in kitchen are done, linoleum in bathrooms is down, and closets have shelves installed.

Monday, August 18, 2003 - Lots of improvements... the deck is being built, the hardwood floors are down, the bathroom vanities and lower kitchen cabinets are in, and the doors and trim are on!

Tuesday, July 29, 2003 - We have drywall! You can really get a feel for the size and shape of the rooms now. The sliding glass door in the basement is also in and we have sidewalks.

Wednesday, July 16, 2003 - Siding and shingles are on, more duct work, and we had our electrical walk through on Tuesday. They have done a lot of electrical work already!

Wednesday, July 9, 2003 - Lots of plumbing going in, furnace is in, duct work is underway, a bird built a nest in our bedroom above the window, and we have a driveway.

Thursday, July 2, 2003 - Upstairs windows are in, basement framing is done, fireplace box has been delivered and placed, our tub is in the kitchen!

Monday, June 30, 2003 - Roof is now enclosed, basement windows are in. Some good pictures here of the interior framing.

Thursday, June 26, 2003 - Big improvements while we were gone. Lots of the framing is done and the basement floor is poured. Still no time to write captions :(

Tuesday, June 17, 2003 - Last look before we went on our vacation. Captions and links now available!

Monday, June 16, 2003 - More floor, more framing, take a look! Descriptions and related image links have now been added.

Saturday, June 14, 2003 - Major progress over the past couple of days. All the floor joists are in and half of the subfloor is laid. Standing inside the basement which is now partly enclosed really gives a different perspective on space... it actually seems bigger than before. There is quite an echo down there.

Tuesday, June 10, 2003 - They did some plumbing in the basement and delivered the wood for the framing. D'Lynn reports that they will start with the framing Wednesday afternoon, June 11.

Wednesday, June 4, 2003 - They back filled the foundation and leveled out the yard. The sides are sloped to the back as expected. The front slopes toward the street and to the west. The back yard was built up a little and now slopes a little to the south toward the farmer's yard. We'll just have to wait and see how it all turns out when it is finished.

Monday, May 26, 2003 - The forms were off the foundation on Monday (5/26) when Anna and I visited the site. Our friends Michele and Denise were walking by checking things out when I drove up. As much as the new house, we think we are really going to enjoy living in the same neighborhood with many friends from church. Every time we go over to the lot, people are out in their yards with their kids or stop by to say hello.

Wednesday, May 21, 2003 - Today they poured the foundation. The forms are still on in these pictures, but D'Lynn reports they have taken the forms off now, so "the hole" has officially become "the basement".

Thursday, May 15, 2003 - We drove by at noon and they were digging again. We came back around 5:30 to find that they have the footings poured.

Monday, May 12, 2003 - They dug the foundation for the new house this week, so the big project is underway.

Sunday, March 23, 2003 - We had several different lots to choose from and it was a tough decision. We settled on this lot which backs up to the large lot owned by the farmer who sold the land for the neighborhood. The lot slopes to the south and west and will work well with the walk out basement ranch model we chose.

The Model - Choosing which model to build was a tough decision. There was a two story house we really liked, but the Mapleton Ranch model we chose gave us the option to have a finished walk out basement with two bedrooms and a 3/4 bath for the boys as well as a large playroom. The main level will have 9' ceilings with a very open floor plan with the Dining Room, Great Room, Dinette, and Kitchen all connected. The Master Bedroom and bath and Anna's Bedroom and full bath are also on the main floor. The entrance from the Garage goes through the Mud Room into the Kitchen.

Floor Plan - The scans of the floor plan did not come out very well. The finished square footage on the model we chose is 2533 sq. feet. We didn't particularly like the way the garage sticks out from the front, but there were other features of this model that made up for it. The house is 47' wide and about 40' deep on average.
