MRS. PETITBON’S CLASS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

1. REQUIRED MATERIALS: Bring the following materials to class each day: a pen (blue or black ink), your text, and a notebook. You will also need your book for SSR. Other materials may be needed for assignments/projects throughout the year.

2. ATTENDANCE: Attendance is required. Promptness is expected. Furthermore, you should be in your seat when the bell rings. If you are not in your seat when the bell rings, you are tardy. If you were with a teacher/administrator, please bring a pass. Frequent tardiness will result in detention and a call to your parent(s)/guardian.

3. CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR: Your responsibilities in this class are as follows:
• Attend class regularly
• Be on time
• Be prepared
• Meet deadlines
• Use your time wisely
• Pay attention
• Follow directions
• RESPECT: Respect the teacher - Respect your peers - Respect yourself
• Do not chew gum/eat, brush hair, apply cosmetics, wear a hat, or use a cell phone

4. ASSIGNMENTS: All work is due on the due date assigned. Failure to turn in homework on the due date will result in a zero.  Failure to turn in other work (essays, projects, etc.) will result in a 10 point deduction for each late day.

5. MAKEUP WORK: You are expected to make up any missed work by a given date. Please see me for the due date. You must take the initiative to obtain and complete your makeup work.

6. ASSIGNED TESTS: Students are notified about upcoming tests and other important dates in advance. Therefore, if you are in class on the day of the test, you take the test.

7. EXTRA HELP: I am available for extra help after school. Department night is on Tuesday.

8. ANNOUNCEMENTS: When the intercom sounds, please refrain from talking.

9. FIRE DRILLS: Walk orderly out of the classroom.  Stay together.  Once you have left the classroom, turn right and proceed outside. Once outside, I will take attendance to ensure that everyone is present.

1o. DISMISSAL: The bell does not dismiss you.  When the bell rings, remain seated until I give you permission to leave.
