Art Prospective Bob you can put your picture
here
At what point do you consider yourself an artist? Roy Anderson of the Cowboy Artist Association said that you must spend seven years in the desert and endure the lessons and struggles of an artist before you can consider yourself one. With that in mind, I should have started a bit before my 75th year.
There is so much beauty in our world, and so many great artists capturing it that I continually challenge myself to make the next painting better than the last. My most satisfying moments as an artist are when someone reaches out for my art.
I never retired per se, as I have been busy photographing things that I will paint someday. As a product consultant and designer, sketching an idea was often the most satisfying part of a project.
I did quite a lot of fishing in the ten years that my wife Lavonne and I lived in Oregon. A few years ago, I started painting-fishing flies in earnest, some on artist paper, but more often on alabaster rock. Love that rock! My interests in painting have expanded from fishing flies to cowboys, Indians, trains, and wild life. I have expanded my art to canvas working with acrylics and oils, which are my passion today. So at what point do you consider yourself an artist? I will leave that for you to decide.
