Book Related Links

Amazon is an interesting place to find reviews. If you see a book you like but can't afford, try Bookfinder. Half.com is a source of used books and they let you keep a wish list. They will notify you when a book comes in that's on your wishlist. You can also sell your used books, cds, and videos here. Favorite authors include Diana Gabaldon, Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, Lois McMaster Bujold and Patricia Wrede.

Contradancing

We dance at the Glen Echo Friday Night Dance most often, but occasionally we can be found at the FSGW Sunday Dance if there is a really good dance. We also attend the monthly family dance held on the second Sunday which is sponsored by FSGW as well. Ted Crane's dance site has a grid which is great for planning dances when you are traveling along the east coast. We also recommend NEFFA and The Dance Flurry

Shape Note Singing

Dr. Warren Steel's Sacred Harp page has a lot of information and the FASOLA web page tells when various singings are held.

Our Trips

Adrian writes up our trips. Our first trip together was to Florida in 1995. There is a little bit tacked on about a later trip in 1998. Right after that trip to Florida, we went to Washington DC on the way home from a trip to a friend's wedding. The next year I decided we needed to go to Toronto . In 1996, 1997, and 1998 our big trips were out west to Seattle to visit Adrian's family. These were not worthy of being written up. We got married in 1998 and failed to take a honeymoon. In 1999 we went to Quebec City. In 2000, we invited my 14 year old sister to go to Williamsburg and Chicoteague with us. We got a bonus trip from my father at the end of 2000 and went to San Francisco. This year we went back to Seattle. We went to The Northwest Folklife Festival and the Oregon Coast too. We stopped at Powell's Bookstore in Portland too.

Personal Tidbits

For our wedding, we built the ceremony from the ground up. Here is the program Pictures and such from real life here. And for those of you who are curious about our first baby, you can read the pregnancy journal here.
