Here are pictures of my first quilt. This is a close-up and here's the full finished quilt.
These quilt tops are for kids. Abigail's quilt is a modified log cabin with a log cabin patch at each corner on the border. You can tell I had fun picking out the fabric. Maybe I got a little carried away with this quilt, because I found myself really wanting to do some applique. I used some stitch-witchery, bonded the sucker on, and satin stitched around with a variegated rayon thread. What fun! Here's a picture of the fish that ended up in the middle. And to finish it off, I found this great fish fabric to use for the back.
Her new little brother gets a flannel patchwork quilt. Hopefully he won't be too jealous.
Here is a little purse I made for Jill. You can see it close-up. Here is a view of the open purse and here is the back of the bag.
I made Ellen a pair of pants and asked her if she wanted a little bag to go with them. She said sure! Here is the purse closed and here it is open.
That bag was a lot easier than the tallis bag that I told Jill I would make her. Of course, it's all my own fault that it ended up like this. She said, I want that patch that looks like fire on the front. I had no idea what she was talking about, so she sent me a link and I said, Oh, fruit basket. Jill said "think wings" and this ended up being the back. She had no say over the middle, but I had wings stuck in my head so I made an eagle patch. I was just going to put plain fabric around the patch, but after seeing Patricia McLaughlin's landscapes, I couldn't help myself. I think the inside speaks for itself.
Here is a peacock wallhanging I made for friends of ours who got married.
Here is Caelan displaying his special baby quilt that I made for him. He is 6 days old and doing great.
