Tito’s Meat Sauce

(This is a knock off recipe for the sauce Tito’s Tacos puts in their burritos)
***You must follow this recipe exactly the first time you make it, after that, if you want to make changes, go for it.  I have been trying to recreate this for 40 years and this is as close as I
have ever come to Tito’s Tacos own recipe
.*** This is revised from my previous recipe.

1 package Mexican paprika (Found in the Mexican section of the store hanging with other spices in a celophane package)
1/8 tsp. of chili powder
5 Tbs. flour
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
2 cans Swanson’s beef broth
2 lbs. chuck roast cubed
Salt to taste

Lightly brown meat
Mix dry ingredients together and coat the meat after it is lightly browned
Pour in broth and mix well
Cook on the stove on low heat until meat is tender.
Add water if needed if the sauce becomes too thick.

*If you want to make it in the crockpot, be sure to start it on the stove and then put it in the crockpot.

Those of you who love Tito's will know if this works, if you like it or you think something should be changed, please send me an email to, Judy's Place
