BaxAgility
This page is meant for beginners in agility, like myself. Hopefully, I can share a few tips here and there that might help you out! Or maybe you might be able to help me out!
Clicker Training
Before beginning agility, learn to use the clicker-training method. The "click" is a positive reinforcement method that cues your dog that he/she is performing the correct behavior. Clickers can be bought for about $0.99 at PetSmart or Petco usually at the checkout counters. Start for a few days by just clicking and treating. Then associate the click with the correct performance of a command, e.g. if your dog knows how to "sit", say "sit", and when he/she sits, click - then treat!

Target Training
The second part of agility training is "targeting". This trains your dog to go to a specified point marked by a "target". Most people use a plastic lid, such as one from a coffee can or a Pringles can. Train your dog that when he/she puts their nose on the target, they get the treat. Use the clicker to train them. Smear the target with peanut butter, or something else your dog loves, to start. When they put their nose on the target, click - then treat! This will help them with the contact obstacles like the dog-walk and A-frame.
Building Your Own Agility Equipment
You can build your own weave poles and jumps - dirt cheap! - with a set of PVC cutters, PVC cement and some PVC pipe. I've also included my practice tire and practice teeter.
This is generally considered the most difficult obstacle (although I personally find the teeter tougher.) Here, I explain the method I used.
