Worth Visiting

John and Lora

I met Lora in 1978 at Boise State University in an advertising design class. She had the most alluring looks and beautiful blonde hair I'd ever seen, and she was a gentle, shy girl. Just the combination that made me lose my balance and put butterflies in my stomach! It took me a month to work up the courage to ask her out.

We lost track of each other after the semester ended. She said hi to me briefly a year later at the state fair and then I didn't see her again for a couple of decades until the spring of 2003.

She looked me up on a search engine that led her to my web site, so she wrote to me in October, 2002, and we got to know each other all over again.

On the Myers-Briggs personality profile, we're both INFPs–Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceptive–which accounts for less than two percent of the world population. The following spring, after my precious brother Ron perished from cancer, I flew to Portland to visit Lora, and our love grew.

Lora is in Phoenix with me now. We got married July 17, 2004, in a park in downtown Phoenix and the temperature was 103. Lora has two daughters, Sarah and Janessa, who live in Portland.
