DAYZEE & VJ RANCH

In February of 2008, I decided to adopt another dog. I wanted a rescue dog, one that was housebroken or almost there and one who was out of the puppy chew stage.

While searching on line, I came across my sweet, little Dayzee:

She is a little over 2 in this picture and just the sweetest dog. I wanted a small dog. (she's my first small dog and will not be my last!)

I got her from VJRanch. Val rescues dogs who are about to be euthanized and tries to place them in forever homes. I asked her how she can do that, rescue them and give them away, and she sent me this that she wrote:

I DID IT FOR YOU

As I watch you drive away, I remind myself…..

   I did it for you.

As I swallow hard and wipe away my tears, I remind myself…

I did it for you.

I know at this moment you are scared and confused,

But please understand that…
I did it for you.

As I fill your spot tomorrow and begin to love another,  I want you to know that..
I did it for you.

Please know that every time I stroked your face, looked into your eyes, and said 'I love you', it was true, it was genuine and…
I did it for you.

Yes, I must love and let go,and...
I did it for you.

People often ask, 'how can you do it?   I try to explain...
 I did it for you.

So, as I kiss you goodbye and watch you depart my life,I must remind myself...
 I did it for you.

Saying goodbye is never easy, just please know...
   I did it for you.
Today we part ways, and tomorrow I will save another from euthanasia!
So as hard as this is for me, please always remember..
 I did it for you.

You are off to start a new life, a real second chance!
I believe that we will meet again someday!
Until then, I will remember that…
  I did it for you.

So, my friend, although this is difficult for me to let you go,
I must always remember that…
 I did it for you.

I will not forget you. I will always remember you and our time together,
I will smile and I will know...
I DID IT FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And so I ask you - if you live in Arizona and are considering a dog, please, please DO NOT get it from a pet store. All that does is promote puppy mills. Please rescue a dog. Take a look to see who Val has.
