New River & Pocahontas Railroad

Many people, even highly educated people, are not aware that the State of Hope, which lies deep in the heart of the Appalachian mountains, is our 51st state. Often confused, especially by map makers, with the southern part of West Virginia, Hope is in every way a separate, independent and sovereign state. Its capital is Sun City and its principal resource is the largest smokeless coal deposit in the western world.

That coal is brought to the nation on the New River and Pocahontas Railroad and exported to the world at the great Pacific Northwest seaport, Deepwater.
