I thought the museum would have been much cooler than it was , after all I like museums (esp manhatten ones) I love Sex (who doesn`t) and I went on a cold rainy day (perfect inside activity day).

Well for one , the museum building seems HUGE ,but it looks like only a portion of the building is for use by the museum. This means narrow winding hallway style viewing of their "New York Sex Theme" Leaning over your shoulder while you ogle a picture of the femal body is a sweet , hip , 60 yr old grandmother. Just a little too much coziness for me , I guess I`m not as HIP as I thought I was .

The theme , in my opinion could have been expanded to so much more , grandioser , more encompassing , BIGGER , Better. etc;

I`ll explain: The theme was Sex In NYC , which really meant , Government against Societies freedoms as Pictures , newspaper clippings, arrest warrants , caused by the many famous SEX POLICEMEN that have been in our governments over the years , starting with some guy named "IFORGOTHISNAME" up to Rudy Giulianni and how these men "Fought the good fight" against porn, prostitution, gay sex, bathhouses,sex in public,and other social taboos according to the powers that be.

They show this by offering a journey through the sexual landscape of the city starting from the mid-19th century via photographs, posters, art, objects, documents, film and cartoons ranging from the benign to X-rated graphic. There is even a porn flic running and many articles and pictures of the 1st porn flic DEEP THROAT.

All in all I guess it was interesting , my buddies Charlie and Fran ,flew thru the museum in appx 20 minutes after paying $17 each to get in , I guess they really did not like it . I think it was the gay wall with pictures of men in various sexual activities. Charlie is fighting his own urges , im guessing :-)

I still believe that "theme" would`ve been nice as a side room , as the theme of the season or what not , There just should`ve been more ,Like different societies , Romans ,egyptians , asians and there timelines ancient - > current , the different variations of sex , tantric ,kama sutra, societies that practice celibacy (shakers) etc; I could go on and on. But i guess maybe I`ll have to have my own museum to get all that in. Hmmm...a virtual online museum of sex through the mind of KASUALKB ?
