Gillette Announces the Winner of the Venus Divine "Legs of a Goddess" Contest
October 2004 (Newstream) -- The Gillette Company today announced the winner of the Venus Divine "Legs of a Goddess" contest, concluding its second annual nationwide search to find the woman with the best legs in America. The search, which included competitions in 10 cities across the United States and online entries, was kicked-off in June 2004 by actress and model Molly Sims, who currently stars in the NBC hit television series "Las Vegas," to celebrate the Venus Divine razor for women.
For the second year in a row, a Miami Beach native has been named the national winner of the contest. Twenty-seven-year-old Samantha Thomas, one of almost one thousand women nationwide to "strike a pose" for the contest judges, clinched the grand prize. In each city, celebrity choreographer and actor Cris Judd, and a scout from Karin Models, an international modeling agency, looked for women who were confident and enthusiastic, and who had legs that were shapely, toned and had a good overall appearance. Pop star sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff, "America's Next Top Model" winner Yoanna House and Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz also made appearances as guest judges at contest events throughout the summer.
