Here's the list of who went on the hike:
Submission from Kathy Sharp:
The group that met at AG left AG promptly at 8 a.m. and headed for the Chili's on Elliot east of I-10 between Priest and Hardy. That's the Chili's that's hard to spot, even when you're looking for it. Julie, Bart, and Jim joined us there, and we headed for Picacho Peak State Park. The entry fee was $5 per car.
We had a beautiful day for hiking. We all went to the Sunset parking lot, and then shuttled back and left Bart's truck at the the Hunter Trailhead on Barrett Loop. We then hiked from the Sunset Trailhead to the top of Picacho Peak, taking 2 hours to get there. We had a nice, leisurely lunch on top and then headed down via the Hunter Trail.
This is a hike that's well worth doing, but it's not for anyone who doesn't like heights or exposure! Our group did fine getting up the cabled parts of the trail. Hopefully, more AG people will join us for this hike next year!
