Site History

It all began in 1995! This is not going to be a long boring historical synopsis, really. I just thought I would write a bit about how this site came to be. Anyway, I got the internet in 1995, and became addicted. Naturally, I wanted a website. So I made one in 1996. And um, six hundred more. They never lasted long! It annoyed me! I just kept making new ones. I made ones with reviews of stuff I had (sort of a Consumer Reports type thing :P) and a pet care site... both showcasing the mature attitude I had even then. And then... there was the Spice Girls site. Showcasing the other side of my attitude. XD Among the other sites I made were a Beanie Baby site and an Olsen Twins site.

Well, in 1999, my brother and I worked together and made a Pokemon site. We had an incredibly fun time. And it lasted a while too, which gave me some inspiration. So, I started my own Pokemon site, which has changed names 29312930342983204234234908 (okay, I lie, but it's been a lot) times. Immediately, and maybe simultaneously (I don't remember), I started a personal site too. And that was modern-day Dreaming Endlessly. Soon, It was called Starfreeze, and by 2000, I had a domain name and everything! But I lost it. The domain, I mean. ^_^ Maybe I'll get a domain sometime soon. Shortly after loosing the domain, we got cable internet, and I got lots of free ad-free webspace, so that worked out. ^_^

I had a brush with "internet popularity" (which I had always wanted), and to be honest, I don't like it. Too much work. My CCS site got 200 hits per day. I got TONS of emails and IMs saying a million different things! It was too much! I couldn't get through a day without, "OmG I liek ur site, BUT i liek ___ mUch BETTA!!1111!" So that is why I don't do the popularity game anymore. I don't like that, and I would much rather basically have a website for my friends. I don't like "being on stage" on the net. I don't want to be listed in lots of search engines and reviews. The truth is, I don't like the thought of "strangers" coming to my website! And I have a hard time with people bashing my site (which happened). In other words, now I am happy. ^_^
