Alma FOSTER

Alma died after only 3 months of Marriage of Kidney problems.It i s thought thatthe "problems" was caused from being pregnant. Alma was a s ister to Hazel Foster who married Fred Raymond Wiley in 1917.

John W FLYNN (FLINN)

John remained with the Indians for a number of years. When he beca me old enoughhe was taught the Indian ways and became a successful hunter . Because of his skills as a hunter he became valuable and was traded bet wen other Indian tribes.During his stay with the Indians he learned six ( 6) native languages and French.  As he grew older he became dissatisfie d with the Indian way of life and decided to leave. He went to nearby For t Wayne where he met Mr Johnson who ran the local trading post. He was hi red at $700. a year as interpreter.  After seven years he left and went t o Miami Co., Ohio where he bought 320 acres of land. He built a log cabi n and made other improvements and then married Virginia Agnes Preist.
When the Indian War of 1812 broke out he became employed by the governmen t and returned to the wilderness to scout on the Indians, their whereabou ts and their flaws.  After he war he returned to Miami Co. Ohio and to hi s wife.He and Agnes had fourteen (14) children on the farm and he remaine d there until his death on June 9 1859. Agnes lived on the farm until he r death in Feb. 1866.
