Memory Verses

If you want to grow in your relationship with God and improve your walk as Christ’s servant, I know of no better way to do it than to “hide God’s Word in your heart” on a regular basis.

I will make it a regular habit of asking if anyone has a memory verse to share during class.  I will do this not so that you can show off, but because testing your memory in front of others is the best way to become confident in your ability to come up with the verse when you need it in time of crisis or during a witnessing opportunity.

Click below for a copy of the verses we will be memorizing this year.  I highly recommend getting each verse down “word perfect” because it’s actually easier to remember that way.  It’s also easier if you attach the “topic” and the “address” to each verse when you say it.  Here’s an example of how to memorize 1 Jn 5:11,12.  When reviewing this I would say,

Beginning with Christ, Assurance of Salvation, 1 John 5:11 and 12.  “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:11 and 12.

You might also find it helpful to put these verses on small cards or buy them on cards.  These verses are available in Christian Bookstores.  They are called the Topical Memory System.

Enough said, here are the verses:
