Hello, and Welcome to KD7LBV's web page, my name is Jay Powelland I am a
Firefighter EMT for the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant 50 mile west of Phoenix, and no I don'tglow
in the dark. For as long as I can remember I have been some what of a scanner
buff, mounting scanners in the car "much to my wife's dismay" and trying
to add as many antennas as I could get away with. In 2000 while
my wife was attending Mesa Community College in Mesa I took a class there, "on ham
radio of course" mostly to pass the time away while waiting for her,
that would change my life for ever. Since that time I have
continued to learn more of this hobby, be it ever so slowly and have
continued to use it both in my line of work, as well as my personal
life and most of all just to get to know others of this hobby . Other things that I like to do are camping and
boating and doing things with my family and of course talking on
the radio when ever time permits. The frequencies that I monitor the most are the 442.800SkyWarn, 442.200 K7CBS, 449.625W7ARAand
146.520 Simplex. I
also enjoy APRS, I resently baught a Garmen StreetPilot III to use in
conjuction with my Kenwood D700, you can now find me KD7LBV-1 onFindu as well as on the Google APRS Realtime link below.
Some of the other Rigs I have are Icom W32a, Icom 207H, Kenwood
G707, and a Yaesu VX-7R. For those who use UI-View click on
