If you have used furniture or an adult bicycle that you want to get rid of and it is still functional, please donate it to a local charity to help out the needy around our area. With just one phone call, you can arrange for a local charity to pick up your items and deliver them to a family in need.
Local charities that will pick up used beds and other furniture include:
The landfill doesn’t need it, but these worthy causes do.
Cleaning out the attic? Tossing out toys? Changing mattresses? Think twice before you put that “junk” out for pick-up on Wednesday night. Instead, recycle it to benefit neighbors in need and help keep our local environment clean. Here are a half dozen Falls Church service organizations that gladly accept clean, usable discards, turn them into treasure, and provide you with a tax deduction. Each organization has specific needs and some will even pick up large items so please call before you donate!
If a home renovation project is in your future, keep in mind that you can even recycle your house or parts of it! Read about RESTORE in Alexandria before you pay to add those reusable building materials to the landfill.
