Kansas Draft Horse and Mule Association Fall Meeting
October 10, 2009
The fall meeting of the Kansas Draft Horse & Mule Association was held at Bruce & Dorothy Anderson’s place Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Americus, Kansas with 16 members attending.
After a hayrack ride through the countryside and a delicious lunch, Lance opened the meeting at 1:00 P.M. thanking the Andersons for hosting the fun day and meeting.
Treasurer's report: A yearly report was given and approved.
State Fair Report: In the absence of the Hisketts, Lance filled us in on this year’s State Fair by thanking everyone for helping and that it was a good show with more new entries than the last year and there will be some changes made next year.
Old Business: It was approved to rejoin the Kansas Horse Council for 2010.
New Business: Don Blake brought up the idea of purchasing a new banner for the KDHMA. The one used has served its purpose for many years and it is time for it to be replaced. After discussion, it was tabled until the winter meeting so there can be more estimates on the cost from different printing companies. Don also brought up the idea of having a driving horse clinic. It was decided to have one in the spring and more will be discussed at the next meeting.
Adjournment: Brad Rodenberg made a motion for adjournment, seconded by Ralph Anderson. Meeting adjourned at 1:20 p.m. Auction followed.
