KM Project meeting minutes for March 3rd 2004

INFS 770 Meeting Minutes:  3/7/2004

Progress since 2/29/2004

  1. Kedar – Implemented Jess with web service including a simple rule
  2. Mark – Began writing introduction
  3. Rob – Implemented “Hello World” web service
  4. Paul – worked on developing classes and object model
  5. Everyone – Conversion of policy to pseudo-code

 Meeting Minutes

  1. Paul reviewed first draft of classes he feels we will need to use.  Kedar should review this.
  2. Flow – workflow – to be approved.
  3. We reviewed the requirements (policy).
  4. Discussed the object model we think we are going to use.
  5. Paper outline reviewed, began including supporting documentation.

 Things to complete over the following week

  1.  Everybody should post their version of the pseudo-code based on the GMU policy

  2. Mark, Paul will begin posting the introduction and paper guideline to the site.
  3. Rob needs to install Rational.
  4. Everybody should begin investigation of RULEML and DAML.
  5. Convert paper form to web form.
 

Meet Wednesday at the Library at 7:30pm.

 

KM Project meeting minutes for February 22nd, 2004

Kedar, Mark and Paul met at the Fenwick Library from 9 AM to 10 AM.

We discussed the general goals of the paper and the presentation. We agreed
that the paper would cover more material in depth and that the presentation
would give a short summary of this with a demonstration of an example policy
implemented as business rules.

Schedule/Plan (we will fill in more details every week)

2/25:
1) Mark, Kedar: find some GMU policies to use as examples
2) Mark, Paul: find examples of business policy ontologies
3) Kedar, Paul: create sample ("Hello World") web services
and agents in .NET (Kedar) and WebLogic (Paul)
4) Mark: look into background of and market for business rules engines
5) Paul: email Robert to ask about his status

3/3:
1) All: select example policy and start converting to business rules
2) Paul: refine reference list

3/10:
1) Mark, Paul (tenative): start draft of paper

3/17:
1) ?: complete samples ("Hello world") business rules application in
web services

3/24:
1) Mark, Paul: complete draft of paper and submit
2) ?: start draft of presentation
