Selected Accomplishments
*      Designed ergonomic "twin rainbow" mouse buttons (first embodied in Design Patent D372,020) used on all Toshiba pointing-stick notebooks, 2.5 million units annually. This design gives users an intuitive, "handedness agnostic" user interface, and provides Toshiba notebooks with an easily identified corporate "trademark".
* Awarded U.S. patent no. 5,486,846: "Intelligent Keypad Overlay" in 1996 for scheme that greatly simplifies the use of notebook keyboards. An additional patent is pending (Toshiba trade secret).
* Created pop-out keyboard "Browsing Tablet" future design concept featured at trade shows and on the cover of Popular Science, February 2001, enhancing Toshiba's "technology innovator" image.
* Designed user interface for the Infinia computer's "InTouch Panel" (Design Patent D392,260), the world's first USB peripheral, integrating five consumer device functions in one computer interface.
* Developed and taught "technological literacy" courses to sales and marketing personnel, increasing their understanding of product capabilities.
* Developed the design, format, graphics, menu system, and substantial content of an extensive slideshow CD, providing field sales force and executives with an accurate, professional, full-product-line sales tool for presentation to top customers.
* Continuing design of hand-crafted web sites for volunteer work and personal use.
* Member of the product planning team that:
               *      made Toshiba the number one portable PC maker in the world for seven years
       * invented the "ultra-portable" category of portable PCs (Portégé)
       * developed Toshiba's innovative Infinia home desktop, providing the company with a new product category and business opportunity
