Keith & Warren, an accomplished Orange County pop duo with a rich and inviting sound, offer a huge repertoire of great songs presented in a clean acoustic style. Their song list features the best of James Taylor, the Beatles, Paul Simon and Chris Isaak, as well as updates of classics from as far back as the '30s. The family-friendly show also includes children's favorites, musically arranged to keep the adults engaged.
Keith Comer and Warren Allen met as coworkers at a local portable computer company. They quickly discovered a common interest in guitar playing and found that their skills are complementary. Keith's intricate fingerpicked guitar weaves the basic fabric, ornamented by the colorful threads of Warren's lines, fills and solos. The combination creates a solid and rhythmic backdrop for Keith's warm, clear vocals. After a year of lunchtime rehearsals and after-hours company parties, they decided to try their luck in the real world, and they have been playing steadily in South Orange County coffeehouses ever since.
Audiences are often charmed by the classic songs on the duo's extensive request list. "A great song is a great song -- I don't care if it's brand-new or if it was a hit when my mom was in school," Keith says, "and it's a lot of fun to surprise people with favorite songs they haven't thought about in a while."
