First organized in 1981 by Hawaiian born and trained Teresita P. Jamanila, the Flowers of the Pacific have a 24 year history of sharing polynesian dancing with the community. Based in San Diego, CA, the dance group has performed at several community events and private parties over the years. Since retiring, Teresita's god-daughter & pupil Cecile Kikilia Aparis has taken over group to continue it's proud history

Cecile Kikilia Aparis began dancing in 1983 under her god-mother Teresita and soon found herself performing regularly with the Flowers of the Pacific. In her 22 years of polynesian dancing, she has performed at numerous events including the famous Merrie Monarch Festival in Hawaii & Southern California's high-profile E-Hula Mau.
Besides polynesian dance, Kikilia has also accomplished herself in other disciplines. She holds her Bachelor of Science in I.T. Management and has danced hip-hop, flamenco, & latin dance. Recently she has enjoyed competing in surf competitions around Southern California including the Roxy™ Wahine Classic and the Women's World Longboarding Championship.
