The member’s database and software application will include the member’s name, member’s address, member’s phone number and member’s email address. Keep in mind that the member may have more than one type of address, more than one type of phone (home, work, fax and cell numbers) and more than one type of email address.

1. List the other two entities for the member's contact database that were not listed in the lecture. You were given the member and address entities.

1. What is the role of the database model in database design and development?

~ The role of a database model is to provide a graphical picture of a database structure to managers, users, DBAs, Data Architects, programmers and support team.

2. What is a database?

~ A database is set of tables with the purpose of organizing data logically.

3. What is a relational database?

~ A relational database is a set of tables that are related to one another.

4. What is an entity?

~ An entity is usually a noun, entities are like categories or headings that contain or generalize specifics (attributes).

5. What is an attribute?

~ Attributes are specifics defining the entities.
