The weather Fearcasters have been wrong
the last two years anyway!

Due to other commitments of both the Park and the Kitefilers who come to fly demos, there is no rain
for the Kite Festival.

Next year, Hammonasset Kite Festival 2010 will be May 22 & 23, 2010

Note: Hammonasset Kite Festival is always
the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend.
In 2009 the Festival will be as early in May as it can possibly be.
In 2010 the Festival will be as late in My as it can possibly be.

Hammonasset Beach State Park, Madison, CT
Exit 62 off of I-95 in Connecticut.

This is a kite festival for the whole family.

Bring a picnic and spend the day.

Admission

There is no admission to the Kite Festival, but the Park charges an entrance fee.
For HKF 2007 they charged $7 for in-state cars, and $10 for out-of-state cars.
Season passes, good for all CT State Parks: $50 in state, $75 out of state.

Food

The Park Concession Stand will be open.
They have hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and seafood.
It is on the beach at the west end of the fields.
Ice Cream carts will be making their way around the fields.

Camping

The campground at the Park, next to the kite fields,
will be open for camping. Normally, the campground uses
Reserve America to reserve sites. Reserve America
does not take reservations for dates before
Memorial Day Weekend.
For the weekend of the Kite Festival,
camping sites are "first come - first serve".
The Park Office will be open at 1 PM on Friday
for reservations.

The weather held off
