Dan's StarGate SG-1 Page

I have been a fan of StarGate SG1 TV Series for some time now and Richard Dean Anderson since his days on the series Macgyver. This fact and the fact that it is a SciFi show about the galaxy and universe attracted me to the show. Going from through a wormhole to other planets would definitely be somethng I would enjoy doing if I could. I began watching the series during season five and have thoroughly enjoyed every bit. As a matter of fact I have the full Season 1 DVD, and I fully intend to get all of the other seasons eventually. I also have the oiginal StarGate: the Movie starring Kurt Russell and James Spader on DVD that came out in 1994.

The Cast of the TV Series:

Richard Dean Anderson — Col. Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill

Michael Shanks — Dr. Daniel Jackson

Amanda Tapping — Maj. Samantha Carter

Christopher Judge — Teal'c

Don S. Davis — Gen. George Hammond

Teryl Rothery — Dr. Janet Fraiser

Corin Nemec — Jonas Quinn

The Stargate is a round portal that can instantaneously transport an object from one point in space to another by generating an artificial wormhole. A wormhole is created between any two Stargates when one Stargate dials the address of another Stargate. A Stargate uses six symbols, representing star constellations, to locate another Stargate and then uses a final seventh symbol, unique to each Stargate, as its point of origin. All together, the Stargate contains 39 symbols, one of which represents a point of origin unique to that Stargate, and has 7 chevrons that are used to lock on to Stargate symbols and dial another Stargate.
