StarTrek:  THE ORIGINAL SERIES

StarTrek - The Original Series (1966-68)

"Space, the Final Frontier.......these are the voyages of  the Starship Enterprise.  It's five year mission is to seek out new life and new civilizations.......to Boldly go where no man has gone before."  These are the words that Captain James T. (Tiberius) Kirk said at the beginning of each Original Star Trek (TOS - the original series) episode
.......for three awesome years.

Spock
SPOCK

A gentleman named Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek TOS over thirty five years ago, and with Star Trek Voyager finished now, a 5th (new) series called Enterprise, and a tenth Star Trek movie in the works; the adventure continues ad infinitum. My 2 sons grew up with Star Trek and I know that the next generation after them and beyond will enjoy Star Trek, also.  I believe that Star Trek lives forever.

The three main crew consisted of Capt. Kirk (above), Dr. McCoy (bot left) multi-ethnic humans and even an alien, a Vulcan, Mr. Spock  (top left). Of course, during the run of Star Trek TOS, this tradition continued and it still continues with the introduction of many more multi-ethnic humans and lots and lots of aliens from 4 different quadrants of the galaxy.

Star Trek lives forever not only because of its' diversity of races, but also, because of its' diversity of subject matter covered in the five regular series: TOS; The Next Generation (TNG); Deep Space Nine (DS9), Voyager (VOY), and Enterprise; a 22 episode animated; and 9 technically up-to-date movies; The Motion Picutre, The Wrath of Khan, The Search For Spock, The Voyage Home, The Final Frontier, The Undiscovered Country, Generations, First Contact, and Insurrection.

Who knows what the future holds?   Movie number ten is in the works.  The movie is scheduled to come out in the winter of 2002.  I, for one, cannot wait. Let us all hope and believe there will not be a world without Star Trek and its' wisdom in it.

      STARTREK LIVES FOREVER!!!!!!!

DR. MCCOY

As the pic on my main page shows this series had seven main characters that all StarTrek enthusiasts have grown to know and love for thirty plus years. These characters are: James T. Kirk (William Shatner), Mister Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Engineer Scott "Scotty" (James Doohan), Lt.Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), Mister Sulu (George Takai), and Ensign Chekov (Walter Koenig).
Their were also a few well-known regulars:  Nurse Christine Chapal (Majal Barrett) (also played "Number One" on "The Cage" and the computer voice on all series and Lwaxana Troi {Deanna Troi's mom - of NG}) and Yeoman Rand (Grace Lee Whitney). Eventually we are introduced to Spock's father Sarek (Mark Lenard); whom is a continuing character throughout all of StarTrek (he is the Vulcan Ambassador to the UFP). Also, a most notable villian is met, namely, Khan Noonian Singh (Ricardo Montalban) in episode,  "Space Seed", who reprises his role in the 2nd Movie, "The Wrath of Khan".
In TOS we learn about the United Federation of Planets (UFP), which is an alliance of approximately 150 planets and colonies; united for mutual trade, exploratory, scientific, cultural, diplomatic, and defensive endeavors. Founded in 2161, members include Earth, Vulcan, and numerous other planetary states. Of course, we hear about Starfleet, which is the deep-space exploratory, scientific, diplomatic, and defensive agency of the UFP to which Capt. Kirk and crew belong.
Also, in addition to Vulcans (Spock's race), we are given some initial knowledge of several other notable alien races: Klingons, Romulans, Tholians, and many others All of these and many others are brought forth and elaborated on throughout all of StarTrek.
