Iverson Reunion 1980

Back ] Up ] Next ]

This is the only reunion I have missed so far, I was in California helping my grandson Matthew get born. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!! I took this from the journal — Carla

May 25,1980 as written by Max Iverson

Some of the Levi Iverson Family met at the A-Z Ranch to hold the second annual family reunion.

Garn and his boys arrived at the ranch on May 23rd and remained through the 25th.

Harley and Merna and family came to the ranch on May 24th and spent the day.

Max, Nita, and family made it to the ranch late on May 24th and stayed until May 26th.  Duard and Glenna brought Mom out on the 25th and spent the day. Boyd, Judy and their two boys also came out on Sunday, and sojourned for the day.

Some of the activities included a few games of horseshoes, two roaring baseball games in the big wire corral, several good games of tetherball, with Hal prevailing as winner over his Dad and Max.

The horses made several trips around the cistern hill but only after Duard was talked into catching them.

Cyle, Tom, Bob, and Max, after viewing some of the nicer meadows on the North side of Diamond Butte, with Garn and Duard, continued over the top of the butte. While on top of the butte the four that made it watched while the vehicles left five of the younger Iverson clan, to figure the best way back to the ranch house. After some minor confusion- all was cleared up, with all getting rides back to the ranch.

A very large pot of chili was prepared along with fried potatoes and other goodies. Enough  to satisfy every ones urge for food. Three freezers of home made ice cream topped off the meal, as the beat kind of dessert.

All who were able to attend, seemed to enjoy the occasion, Those who could not be there were missed. Grandma expressed her disappointment that there was not at least 3 or 4 times as many present, and in agreement with her a much better time could have been had if all were here.

P.S. After some 400 lbs of lead was scattered around the home place the rabbit population was decreased by two.
