Champions of the West Wild West Show moves to Rawhide

Champions of the West Wild West Shows are now thrilling audiences with the sites and sounds of a real American Wild West Show at the Rawhide National Cowboy Round-Up. Showtimes are Friday February 16th at 6PM, Saturday February 17th, at 3PM, Sunday February 18th at 5PM, Monday February 19th, at 4PM . The shows include a World Champion jumping horse, Indian hoop dancing, gun spinning, rope tricks, bull whip cracking, cowboy mounted shooting, and magnificent horses and world famous buffalo Harvey Wallbanger Jr.! The Saturday and Sunday performance is preceded with mutton bustin’ for the kids.  
 
March 1st the Champions of the West Show will move the show inside the Rawhide Pavilion for a totally climate controlled show environment. Shows will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8PM and Sunday at 4PM.  
 
Champions of the West features the talents of TC Thorstenson and his world famous American Plains Bison, Harvey Wallbanger Jr. TC and Harvey always bring audiences to their feet with daring stunts including jumping through a ring of fire and climbing to the top of a semi-truck and trailer! Just the sheer size and magnitude of this magnificent beast at 2850 pounds is enough to make you shiver. To get up close and personal and actually feel, hear and see this incredible buffalo is the thrill of a lifetime. The heart touching bond between trainer and buffalo is amazing to watch as TC trusts Harvey to lay on top of him. You can see Harvey smile when he pleases audiences with his talent and grace! You may recognize Harvey as the star of many TV and movie roles including Domino’s Pizza, Adidas, Mercedes Benz, American Express, Lonesome Dove: Dead Man’s Walking, and Buffalo Girls.  
 
Kids will love the mutton busting. Parents can call (480) 451-6444 to reserve a date (Saturday & Sunday) when their kids (under 60 pounds) can compete in the exciting wild sheep riding. It’s the memory of a lifetime! This is wholesome fun for the whole family.  
 
Payson Peterson, the 1998 World Champion Cowboy Mounted Shooter brings his blazin’ guns and crackin’ whips to the show. Payson will join the shows when Cowboy Kal takes a vacation. A real cowboy who will share the glory days of the old time wild west, Payson has trained horses and his amazing wonder dog Emmett to work in harmony. His performance will keep you smiling! 
 
Vince Bruce World famous gun spinning trick roper and bullwhip artist holding Guiness World records will join the Champions of the West Show during the National Cowboy Round-up. This is truly a championship showcase of talent! 
 
Cowboy Kal and his trained horse will entertain audiences with his quick gun spinning, bull whip and rope tricks, as well as his quick wit and humor. Kalvin Cook hails from Oklahoma and has traveled the country entertaining audiences in places like the Ponderosa Ranch in Nevada. He rides a saddle and knows cowboy lore better than anyone and will share his stories from the campfire. Audience participation is always exciting as you never know what will happen next! 
 
Brian Hammill, a member of the Ho’Chunk Nation, adds color and beautiful music to any performance with his World Champion Native American dance and flute music. Ranked in the top 10 in the nation as a hoop dancer, Brian brings education to his performance as he explains the origin and purpose of his incredibly beautiful dances. His colorful costumes are based on the rich traditions of Native American social and ceremonial dancing. His flute music can be enjoyed on his first album Lakeside Melodies. His breathtaking dances will stun and delight you time and again!  
 
Cowboy Mounted Shooters will join each performance to compete in courses of fire that will amaze you with their speed and graceful horsemanship. Authentic detailed costumes are all a part of cowboy mounted shooting, the fastest growing equestrian sport in America today! TC Thorstenson, 2000 National Champion will invite a variety of top ranked mounted shooters, including World Champion Cowgirl Audrey Hensley, to display their skills. Contests between these top shooters always bring unexpected thrills!  
 
Faith the jumping horse will really get the blood pumping when you see her jump a Chevrolet Camaro! This death defying aerobatic equestrian stunt has never been performed anywhere else! TC and Faith take a leap of faith jumping a car, shooting two targets midair with no reins! Anything can happen and you can be there to see it all at the Champions of the West Shows!
