CMSA Rundown Editor 1999 -2004
Bimonthly Tabloid Newspaper to Cowboy Mounted ShootingŪ Association

I took over the CMSA Rundown in 1999 when it was a quarterly 16 page newsletter, $4000 in the red every issue with next to no paid advertising.
When I left in 2004 it was a bimonthly 68 page tabloid newspaper making $25,000 a year profit and paying the salaries of editor, layout artist and two part time sales staff. It had over 50% ad to editorial ratio and stimulated two major vendor shows annually.
The Board of Directors  attributed the overall success and growth of the association largely to the tremendous impact the newspaper had on reinforcing national competition and maintaining competitor enthusiasm.
The Rundown is now outsourced to a professional marketing firm Fan Corp out of southern California.

Here are some of the significant Past Issues:

This issue was very special to me not only for the cover photo I shot with TC & Chantall, but for the artisan article featuring several saddle makers. It was one of my all time favorites and ended up running in other publications as well. It was my first cooperative effort with Leather Crafters & Saddle Makers News, which has been a long term friendly relationship that continues today with Mounted Shooters World!
