Descendants of August Hammer

Let me tell you something about myself. I, Layne C. Hammer was born May 26th 1942. About 35 years ago I became interested in my German heritage. I have spent countless hours talking to anyone who would take the time to spend with me discussing what they knew about my ancestors. My 3rd great grandfather Friedrich August Hammer was born in Altenberg Germany, Lutheran Minister, if fact, he was minister to the Duke Of Saxony. He was Director of a boy's and girl's school. He died 13th of February, 1830.. I have acquired a great deal of data relating to my ancestors. This has been a very slow and tedious project however, it is a great way to meet and talk to people which I really enjoy. This a small portion of the Hammer family ancestors just to see if you can relate to any of my ancestors or if you know of someone you could put me in touch with. I have attempted many different avenues of researching the Hammer's. Some attempts put a real strain on my budget, so I thought I would give a website a try. The research has been going very slowly the last few years.
