Lightning Place 2nd in LA. USSSA AAA State Tournament
The Lightning
participated in the Louisiana USSSA AAA State tournament
in Slidell over the weekend of June 26th and 27th.
The team again had to rebound from an opening game loss
and marched through the bracket to the State
finals. Rain played havoc with the tournament
schedule and forced the semi-final and final games to be
played on Wednesday, June 30th. All of the games
were very competitive and well-played, with the final
game playing out as a one run nail biter. Hats off
to the Carrollton Boosters, who took a hard fought 3-2 championship
game win.
The team now
has it's sights set on the USSSA AAA World Series in
Overland Park, Kansas during the week of July 11-18th.
