Arrival---The top two breakers need to be flipped on. The breaker box is in the utility room in the basement. This is for the hot water heater and the boat dock.
Emergencies—Contact us with any emergencies at (703) 273-8038 or (703) 501-8222, including accidents on property or problems with appliances, plumbing, electrical, etc. Also, in case you can not reach us or is a situation needing immediate attention please call Mary at (540) 872-2525 or cell phone (540)894-3200. She can be called until 11:00 pm.
Pets—NO pets allowed unless owner gives approval (subject to loss of entire security deposit and must vacate the property for violating the contract).
Smoking—NO smoking allowed in house or the screened porch. We would also appreciate not littering yard with butts, there are ashtrays on the screened porch.
Boat ramp—Key is provided for lock on ramp. The ramp is on the other side of gray house next door to right. Please be sure not to block the ramp for long periods and park trailers on our property. Do not cross the neighbor’s yard to access the boat ramp.

Trash—Do not
leave trash outside unless in covered trash containers provided (crows and
other animals may cause problems).
Please remove all trash to the dump at end of stay. The dump/recycling center is located about
4-5 miles away. Once you’re at the main
road (Rt. 612) turn right. Go to the
stop sign (Rt. 719) turn right, follow this past Hunters Landing and across the
lake. Follow about 1 mile, then turn
left at the Belmont Recycling Center/fire station. If you are questioned by the attendant, tell
them you are renters of a house at
Entertainment center—There is an instruction sheet on how to use remote and system in the cabinet. A 27” TV with DISH Network satellite system, a VCR/DVD, and a stereo system with a CD player is available for your enjoyment.
Row boat—You are welcome to use the row boat, just be sure to secure it well, on shore, after each use. Please do not let it bang up against the dock. Life vests are provided in the basement. Life vests are required by law.
Things provided—Mattress pads, pillows (assorted sizes), blankets, . We also have some games for adults and children, and quite a few toys for young (under 7) boys and girls. We suggest that if you bring toys please label them. We would appreciate that juices especially red and grape juices stay in kitchen area. We do supply the dish detergent and dish washer soap and kitchen towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with lots of dishes, pots, pans, skillets, waffle iron, crock pot, large stock pot, and blender. Chances are unless you need something out of the ordinary we probably already have it.
We suggest you bring—Sheets and pillow cases (UPSTAIRS-1 king, 1 queen, 3 twins and 1 full; DOWNSTAIRS-1 king, 1 queen waterbed (uses normal sheets), 2 sets of bunk beds with twin over full beds); towels (bath, beach), toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.), laundry soap, paper products (paper towels, toilet paper), video/DVD’s, cassettes and CDs, water toys, personal life jackets, fishing equipment, and of course what ever you do end up forgetting DON’T let it be your camera (you will love the sunsets).
Cleaning—We will have the house professionally cleaned upon departure. Please load and run the dishwasher before you leave. If there is a need for excessive cleaning (carpet and/or upholstery steam cleaning) we will deduct the fee from your security deposit.
Departure—Check out time is 10:00 am. Leave the key on the key rack in kitchen. Lock all doors and windows. Turn off all lights, fans and AC (in the winter please keep heat on but turn down to 50 degrees). Turn off the two top right breakers (hot water heater and boat dock), the breaker box is in the basement utility room. Remove all belongings from the refrigerator and washer/dryer. Remove trash to the dump.

Fishing: VDGIF allows renters to fish from the
land they rent from without a fishing license as long as they have written permission
from the landowner. Remember this is
only from the property, if you fish from a boat you are required by law to have
