SOME ADDITIONAL REMINDERS

While you are visiting Lake Anna, we want you to have an enjoyable and safe vacation.  Please be responsible while on and near the water.  If you have small children, we strongly suggest that they wear life jackets, and watch them extremely close, it only takes a second, that one time you take your eye off of them for them to fall in the water.

Boating:  Lake Anna is patrolled by county governments, Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Game Warden.  You are required by law to have a life vest for every person on board your boat, a fire extinguisher, running lights and proper decal numbers.  Two of the most important laws are:  DO NOT CONSUME ALCOHOL WHILE OPERATING A BOAT AND KEEP A DISTANCE OF AT LEAST 100 FEET FROM ALL OTHER WATERCRAFT.  We strongly advise you to follow the boating laws set forth in the State of Virginia.  Personal water crafts (jet skis) have become very popular at Lake Anna.  Please be extremely alert while boating especially since many PWC riders may not be experienced.

Fishing:  VDGIF allows renters to fish from the land they rent from without a fishing license as long as they have written permission from the landowner.  Remember this is only from the property, if you fish from a boat you are required by law to have a fishing license.  The license can be obtained at all the marinas located at Lake Anna.  The closest marina to our property by road or water is Hunter’s Landing (next to the Rt. 719 bridge).

The Neill’s grant permission for the tenants of 15001 Beaver Dam Drive to fish from their property.

Emergencies:  Spotsylvania County is serviced by 911 in case of an emergency.
