bullet Friedrich Carl Christlieb immigrated in 1765 to America. The Christliebs descend from Frederick Carl Christlieb who emigrated in 1765 (landing at Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two sons, and stepson George Buck) from Durkheim in the Rhineland-Pfalz (Palatinate, "Rhenish Bavaria"). A published family history expresses doubt that Durkheim was the ancestral home; the family perhaps stayed there only a few years before coming to America. There is a notable Christlieb family in Wurtemberg (but no connection has yet been discovered).

This is taken from "Sam Meyers (1805-1883) and Lydia Horner (1833-1907): Their Ancestors and Descendants" by Forrest D. Meyers, 1979.
