A retired ravenna shoemaker, Charles A. (Captain) Geiger, 83 of 2277 Summit Rd., Kent, died at his home at 1:30 am Sunday after a long illness.
A resident of Ravenna most of his life, he was born in Akron, Sept. 23, 1876. In the shoe repair business for 36 years, he operated a shop on Hickory Way from 1912 until his retirement in 1948. Earlier he had been in the restaurant business on Main St.
He leaves his wife, Dawn; a daughter, Mrs. George (Jeanette) Brewer of Lisbon: a grandson, John McComb of Carmel, Ind.: and two great grandchildren.
Services at the Wood Funeral Home, Ravenna, will be at 3:15 pm Tuesday, the Rev. B. Forest Bond officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
