/thomas was born in Ohio. He was a farmer in Defiance County, highland Township, Ohio in 1851: Tippicanoo county, Jackson Township, Indiana in 1860 and Monon township in 1870. he was apparantly widowed twice. His 2nd wife was harriet and his 3rd wife was Malinda. these facts were discovered in the 1870, 1860, and 1850 census records. His 1st wife, Sarah (my ancestor) was born about 1824 in Ohio and died before 1856. Parents: Jacob T. Peterson and Jane Anderson.

He was married to Sarah in OH. Children were: Andrew J. Peterson , George W. Peterson, Martha Jane Peterson, John M. Peterson, Hannah R. Peterson, Wiliam T. Peterson.
