The death star's super laser cannon has enough fire power to destroy an entire planet of any size and turns it to nothing. The death star has enough starfighter squadrons to destroy an entire star destroyer, not that it would want to but it has that much power. The first and only time that the death star used it's super laser was when it destroyed the entire planet of Alderaan. That was the only time it was used because the rebels destroyed the death star before it had another chance to destroy the rebel base on the forest moon of Yavin.
