The whole purpose of the Jedi is to stop the sith from destroying things, and to bring peace back to the galaxy. Training to become a Jedi is not a easy task. You will have to learn how to use lightsabers that are the weapons of a Jedi Knight, and you will have to be highly trained in some form of karate. The ranks of a Jedi are listed below from highest to lowest:
Jedi Master: A master is a Jedi who has mastered all of the tasks that are needed to become a Jedi. They know how to defeat Sith, the know black-belt level karate, they know how to defeat someone using a double-bladed or one sided lightsaber and they have mastered the force. Only the first 12 Jedi to reach this level are accepted into the Jedi Council.
Jedi Knight: A Jedi Knight is someone who is training a Jedi Apprentice, and who is one level from being a Jedi Master. They have learned how to use lightsabers, they know how to defeat someone who is using either double bladed or one sided lightsabers, and they know up to black-belt level karate. They have already chosen someone to be their Jedi Apprentice.
Jedi Apprentice: A Apprentice is someone who has just wanted to become a Jedi. They have not yet learned how to use and handle a lightsaber but they are learning how to. They are up to green-belt level karate and they have just started learning how to become a Jedi. They will soon be a Jedi Knight.
Jedi Padawan Learner: A Padawan learner is someone who has just entered the Jedi Order. He/she has no knowledge of the Force, only up to yellow belt level karate, and does not yet know how to handle a lightsaber. If you were to put them in a duel with the Sith, they would come out in many pieces.
The oldest you can be when you start training is 12 years old. If you are older, you will not be accepted. If you are younger than 10, you will be accepted. Email me and I will provide you with further instructions from there at: legojeffr@cox.net.
If you want other in the new Jedi Order, you need to make up a new Jedi name for yourself. Then, you need to email it to me so that I can make sure it's ok. After that, since the ways of making a REAL lightsaber have been lost, you will need to go to Wal-Mart or some store that has Star Wars things in it. You will need to buy a lightsaber.
