"To be" Verb Usage Practice


In the following exercise, write down the correct form of the verb "to be" as stated in parenthesis within the sentence.  Look at the example that follows, which will help you in choosing the correct answers.

Present Tense: am, are, is
Past Tense: was, were
Future Tense: will be, shall be
Present Perfect: have been, has been
Past Perfect: had been
Future Perfect: will have been, shall have been

Example:

I _____________(present) late for my date. [am would be inserted on the line]
